The Giant Dinosaurs a Picture Book, with a Surprise!

Dinosaurs: The Giants are
Rockin' Once Again

Re-Visited Picture Book Read Aloud!

Not the greatest book of Dino selection out there, but I thought it might be interesting to compare and see how far we've come with illustrations and information on them. Tumpsky and Mrs. Small on Youtube. Includes a real dinosaur meat-eater footprint. I try to give and add a little flair in my
presentation.

In the vast array of Dinosaur books out there, this book will still be valued by children everywhere. It was printed in 1984 by Scholastic, written by Erna Rowe, and illustrated by Merle Smith. The pictures are interesting in that they try to show some emotion in the images, but are not too scary for kids in my opinion. On the page where there is a comparison of the size of all the Giant Dinosaurs, they should have included an image of a human being to give us some size recognition. To make up for this in my video, I added an image of a T-Rex and a 6 foot human to show that comparison.

Tumpsky and Mrs. Small is a reading channel on Youtube, where Mrs. Small uses puppets or animation sometimes to encourage interest in what's going on. The puppet includes the viewer at times, allowing for four dimensions of interest, the reader, the puppet, the book, the viewer. The puppet communicates with the viewer (child) which piques interest in the real-time dynamics.

This book is in abundance on Amazon and very inexpensive for the gently used version.
